From "I need someone" to "I hired the right person."

Search by trade and place
Start with what you need and where you are — plumber, HVAC, electrician, roofer, and more, in your city or state. ProFix sends you to the trade hub instead of burying you in thin city pages, so you reach a real list of contractors fast.
- 02
Read the proof inline
Each profile shows the evidence next to the name: the trust tier, the license badge, permit activity, and the public-record source trail. You can see what we have actually confirmed before you ever pick up the phone — no gated 'unlock the details' wall.
- 03
Verify the license at the source
ProFix links the official state licensing-board lookup on every profile. Click through and confirm the status reads active, the classification covers your job, and the name matches your contract. The board is always the system of record — we point you to it, we never replace it.
- 04
Compare against real permit-cost data
Before you judge a quote, check what the work actually costs. The ProFix Real Cost Index is computed from 3,411,397 real public building permits across 50 metros, so you can sanity-check a price against medians and middle-50% ranges from real filings — not a survey guess.
- 05
Contact safely — no lead resale
When you are ready, use the contact paths on the profile directly. ProFix is free for homeowners and does not sell your name, phone, or email to a pile of competing contractors. You decide who to call and when.
We don't just link the board — we've already matched the records.
last verified
ProFix has matched 486,586 contractors to an active license across 32 states (California, Massachusetts, Maine, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Texas, and 26 more states), straight from official public records. On those profiles you see the board, the status, and a link to confirm it yourself. It means you can start a search already knowing a credential is real — and where a state's board is not wired up yet, we say so and send you to the official lookup instead of pretending.
A board status is a dated snapshot, so the honest move is always to confirm the live record before you sign. ProFix makes that one click, never a dead end.
The directory should help you decide — not capture you.
Evidence first
Trust tier, license badge, permit activity, and the source trail are visible before you call — not behind a form.
Source of truth
Every profile links the official state board so you confirm the license at the source, never just our word.
Real cost data
Permit-based medians and ranges let you sanity-check a quote against what the work actually costs.

Questions homeowners ask
Is ProFix free?
Yes. ProFix Directory is free for homeowners. You can search, read the evidence on a profile, verify a license, and use the cost data without paying or creating an account.
Do you sell my information?
No. ProFix does not sell your name, phone, or email to multiple contractors as shared lead inventory. You contact a contractor directly from their profile, on your terms.
How do you verify contractors?
ProFix starts with public state-license-board data and official lookup links. The live board overlays currently show 486,586 verified-active contractor licenses across 32 states. Where a live overlay is not wired yet, we label the source honestly and point you to the official board instead of overstating verification.
Where does the cost data come from?
The ProFix Real Cost Index is computed from 3,411,397 real public building permits across 31 states. We publish medians and middle-50% ranges only where enough permit filings support the benchmark. Permit declared values are not final invoices, so we label that limitation.
How do contractors get listed?
Most listings are built from public records — license rosters, permits, and business data — so a directory exists before any contractor signs up. A contractor can claim their listing for free to control their profile, and lead routing is a separate, optional choice.
How do I claim my business?
If you are a contractor, open the claim page, find your business, and start a free claim. Claiming controls your profile (hours, photos, service area); buying leads is optional and priced transparently by trade.
