California Privacy Rights

Last updated: 2026-06-25

This notice supplements our general privacy policy and describes how California residents may exercise their rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

1. Categories of personal information collected

In the past 12 months ProFix Directory may have collected the following categories of personal information about California residents (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.140(v)):

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information as defined in CCPA § 1798.140(ae) beyond standard authentication credentials.

Categories of third parties. We disclose identifiers and the commercial information in a homeowner lead (name, phone, email, ZIP/city, job description) to contractors who purchase that lead. We also disclose information to the service providers / sub-processors listed in our general privacy policy (hosting, database, payments, email, SMS, analytics). We do not disclose personal information to data brokers or advertising networks.

2. Sources of personal information

3. Purposes of use

4. Disclosures and "selling" or "sharing"

When you submit a homeowner job request, we disclose your request — including your name and contact details — to the matched contractor(s) in your area who purchase access to it. Those contractors pay ProFix a referral/access fee for that introduction. Because that disclosure is for valuable consideration, we treat it as a "sale" and/or "sharing" of personal information under the CCPA/CPRA and give you the right to opt out (see section 5 and the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" control below).

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third-party data brokers, list brokers, or advertising networks, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Apart from the lead disclosure above, we disclose information only to sub-processors that operate the service on our behalf (see the general privacy policy for the full list).

We have no actual knowledge that we sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

5. Your California rights

6. How to exercise your rights

Use any of the following:

7. Verification and authorized agents

We will verify your identity before fulfilling a request (typically by matching the email or phone number on file). You may use an authorized agent — the agent must provide written permission signed by you, and we may still ask you to confirm the request directly.

8. Response timelines

9. "Shine the Light" (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.83)

California residents may request, once per year, a list of categories of personal information disclosed to third parties for those third parties' direct-marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct-marketing purposes.

10. Minors

We do not knowingly collect personal information from California residents under 16. If you believe a minor has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it.
