If the plan requires only company-approved maintenance, ask whether missing one visit cancels everything. If the plan says "limited," assume the limits matter and ask for the exact remedy.
What manufacturer warranty already covers
Start with what is already included before buying more coverage. Fixture, transformer, and control makers may cover defective hardware, but buried wiring, water exposure, landscape changes, and connection quality affect most service calls.
