How we rank
- Confidence score (0-100). Sum of presence/match signals: phone in E.164, phone area code matches state, street address, valid ZIP, email, website, license number, and multi-source corroboration.
- Verified phone. Every ranked pro has a callable phone that survived our normalization pipeline.
- License active. A license number or a state-board verification URL is on file. Single-letter license classes are accepted when paired with a NAICS match.
- Photo present. Real contractor photos earn a small ranking nudge; we never require one to be listed.

FAQ
Who are the best hvac technicians in North Carolina?
The best hvac technicians in North Carolina are the 10 verified pros that clear ProFix's 80-point confidence threshold. Rankings use verified phone, published license evidence, source count, address completeness, and photo presence, then sort by score and public evidence. Paid placements are excluded, so use this as a shortlist before checking scope and insurance.
How does ProFix rank the best hvac technicians in North Carolina?
Each hvac technician on this list scored 80 or higher on ProFix's confidence scorecard, which combines verified phone, license evidence, multi-source corroboration, and a published address. Pros are ranked from highest score to lowest, then tie-broken by source count, license presence, and years in business.
Are the ratings or awards on this page paid placements?
No. ProFix does not sell rankings, badges, or awards. Every position here is computed from public, verifiable evidence. We don't run a star-rating system on these pages because we don't have first-party review data for every state yet — when we add it, it will be clearly labeled and source-cited.
What should I verify before hiring a hvac technician in North Carolina?
Confirm the license / registration number with the state board, ask for proof of liability insurance and workers' comp, and get a written scope before paying any deposit. Ask which crew will actually do the work, not just the salesperson who quotes it.
Why are some hvac technicians not on this list?
The pool is drawn from public records in three tiers — multi-source gold listings first, then board-verified listings — and ranked by evidence completeness, never by payment. A great local hvac technician can be missing because we have not yet matched them to enough public-record signals — not because they do bad work.
